GROWING UP HURTS

This weekend, one of my top teeth broke through. I haven't been too happy about it. It's been a pain. And on top of that, I've had a fever since yesterday, I woke up all lastnight in tears, and I don't want to be put down. I feel just awful. If the fever keeps up until tomorrow morning, then it's the doctor for me. Man, I hope it goes away! This has been one of the worst weekends ever. -maddox

CATCHING THE LIGHT

I hurried across the kitchen floor when I spotted this glowing object in the office.
I was excited to see how it felt. Without hesitation, I grabbed it.

Strangely, my hand went right through it. And even MORE strange, I started glowing, too!

That was it for me! Hands off! Mom never told me the glowing object was a "no no," but I didn't want to take any chances. -maddox

DADDY'S DAY

If Father's Day was a contest, my dad would definitely win. He loves spending time with me, making me laugh and just being my buddy. He's the best dad ever, even Mom thinks so. -maddox

A PICNIC IN THE MIDDLE OF HISTORY

Dad, Mom and me had a picnic today in the middle of ancient oak trees, a water fountain and a cannon. I bet Dad liked the park because he likes history.
We sat in the shade and I dug around in the picnic basket until I found something good - like the Sprite can and the cheese puffs.
Dad and me looked inside the cannon. No worries. I don't think it works anymore.

The swing gave me a little breeze, which was good, because it was HOT.

I wanted to jump in the fountain, but Mom said it smelled nasty.

I moved onto Dad, hoping he would give in, but he held me back, too.

The grass was not nearly as fun as the water looked. In fact, it was prickly and I didn't care for it at all! -maddox

3 OUTFITS, 1 DAY

I can create a load of laundry in a 12-hour span. This morning, I dug around the pots and pans drawer in the kitchen. It was pointless. There was no candy hidden inside.
After a swim, I climbed all over the couch and terrorized Mom and Dad.

I ended the day by stealing some of Dad's ice cream. It was a good thing I had on a bib. -maddox

BIGGEST BATHTUB EVER

There is my bath tub at home. Then there is Papa Joe's pool. And THEN...there is the ocean (biggest bath tub ever). I saw it a couple of days ago with my Mom and Dad...
...and Grandpa and Mimi. I walked (with the help of Mom) straight into the waves. The sand was heavy, though, and I had to walk extra hard. I also chilled out a lot by the pool, as you can see.
And, as I will quickly show off, I learned how to drink through Mimi's hot pink straw. I even got my own cup at a restaurant one night.

This is the sand I was talking about. If you don't watch out, it will try to eat your feet.

I could have stayed on the beach all day.

And the pool. Isn't my pet crab awesome? I even saw a REAL crab on the pier. I stayed away, though, because his pinchers looked pretty intimidating.

Vacations are fun...but exhausting. I'm still trying to catch up on my sleep! -maddox

A JAM-PACKED DAY

I played with Cousin Abby today at Grandma Trues's house. We share a love for pineapple pie.
We kind of look alike too! That's her with her grandma and me with mine.

Later, Dad and me took a swim in the pool. Mom tried to join us, but she said the water was too cold. She ate boiled peanuts on the deck instead...and this made me very upset because she wouldn't share!!

I got distracted, though, when Papa Joe pulled into the yard on a giant golf cart. And the idea of eating a boiled peanut completely left my mind when I realized he was going to take me for a ride!

He showed me his garden. It was really really really big.

I found out that corn grows TALL. I hope I get my teeth soon so I can eat some of Papa Joe's corn. -maddox

FRENCH FRIES AND HUNGRY PIGS

I waited anxiously at the window for Grandpa and Mimi's arrival today.
After they got to our house, we all went to Chili's. I banged on the table, screamed a few times, giggled and ate (a lot). I ate sweet peas, pears, pasta noodle pieces and fries (my favorite).

Back home, Mimi fed my VERY hungry pig. I thought it was unfair that he got to eat all the quarters, so I tried to claim my share...unfortunately, it seems that quarters are a "no-no."

Later, I hung out with Grandpa and watched a little tv.

Mimi played hard with me today and I was worn out! This was my last attempt at playtime before I crashed. -maddox

FIRST BOO BOO

I've managed to swim twice in Papa Joe and Grandma's pool AND go out in the lake in Grandpa and Mimi's boat without a single scrape. But that all changed today when I rode a horse.

This one is a lot wilder than the horse I rode at McBee. It threw me off and I got my first big boo boo, right on my cheek. This picture is hiding it but it's definitely there. I'm not afraid, though. I just hopped back on and told that horse that I'm the boss around here. -maddox
