DAD'S CHAIR

This might make you laugh...
Mom put me down for barely five seconds in Dad's big fancy office chair while she grabbed a glass of tea. Well, I couldn't resist the opportunity. I peed in it.
And this is where it landed me: the changing table.
Looks like I've been demoted back to my baby seat, too. Darn.

OUT ON THE TOWN

Here's Mom, Dad and me chowin' down on some Mexican food (well, I chowed down later...at the moment, I was more inclined to get in some zzzz's). This was my first restaurant visit ever and, according to Mom, I got an A+ in behavior (ask her again when I turn 2 haha).

We went out with my best bud Jacob and his parents. He was pretty good too (though not much inclined to sleep).
Too bad I slept through the part where Jacob's dad let him taste a lemon. But, from the looks of this picture, I don't think I'll be trying lemons anytime soon. -maddox

CHUNKY MONKEY

I'm afraid my belly is turning into Mom's favorite ice cream...chunky monkey. I'm like a monkey in lots of other ways, too. I try to climb up Mom's shirts and I've started making some weird little monkey grunts sometimes. Mom has noticed. So, she and Dad bought me this onesie. See the print? Hundreds of cute little monkeys! (but I'm cuter)

DADDY AND ME...

I look a lot like my dad. And, hey, that's cool with me. My dad is a pretty fun dude. We hang out and talk about, you know, guy stuff. And if he just had a lobster on his shirt, too, then we'd probably look like twins.

BEST BUDS

Meet Jacob. He's my best bud, and as Mom already suspects, he's going to be my future partner in crime. Imagine the mischief we will get into when we can walk! Right now, we have fun taking turns crying when our parents are hanging out. I mean, what else can I do anyway, as far as sounds go? I can't wait until I'm big like Jacob and can laugh out loud, like he does. That'll be the day!

Baby Kangaroo

Did you know that a baby kangaroo is called a joey? It's carried around by it's mom in a cool little pouch. My mom bought a little pouch (she calls it a sling) and I decided to try it out. It's perfect. I always want her to hold me, but her arms get tired, so the pouch is a great solution. She sticks me in there and I fall asleep instantly...like magic. Some might call me a mama's boy, but I like to think of myself as a cute little baby kangaroo.

Sleep is for babies...not for me!

Mom and Dad are amazed that I don't nap as much as I did, say, last week. I stay pretty alert for most of the day now. There is so much to learn! Here I am listening to Mom and Dad talk about me. I'll listen for a few minutes, but then, right as Mom sits down to eat dinner, I like to start making noises so she will come entertain me. This is my latest trick.

Dad: What happened to our sleepy, happy baby?

Mom: Um...I think he finally woke up.

Go Gamecocks!

Even though my favorite college football team lost to Georgia yesterday, I still proudly sported my team's colors today...ok, so it's not quite USC's garnet and black, but wouldn't you say it's pretty close?

p.s. That's my mean face in the bottom pic. If I saw a Georgia fan, this is definitely the face I would make.

CRYBABY

This is the same face I made yesterday when Mom and Dad took me to the doctor for my 2-week check-up. That scale was COLD...and don't even get me started on where they stuck that thermometer. The only cool thing out of the whole experience was learning I'm now 8 lbs. 13 oz. Look at those cheeks!

Not a Care in the World...

Life is pretty good when you are a baby. I mean, c'mon, you get tons of sleep, free food at the slightest cry, all of the attention, and everyone thinks you are adorable. Who could want more?

THE BONNET

When Dad leaves, Mom sneaks on my bonnet. Dad says it makes me look like a girl. Mom oohs and ahhs and gets out the camera. I think I look like Little Bo Peep. But oh well. I am a newborn and super cute...so I can get away with anything right now. As long as the bonnet doesn't keep me from looking at/sucking on my hands, I can deal with it.

HOT WHEELS

Who needs a car when you have these hot wheels? Dad and Mom took me for my first ride through the neighborhood the other night. I slept for most of it (Mom looks like she could use some of that sleep) but cracked open one eye to peep at the lake.

MY FAVORITE THINGS...

Mom puts me on her lap and we watch the news at night (or very early in the morning). We chat about Hurricane Gustav and the presidential election...it's a little too serious for a tiny guy like me, but I give it some thought before going back to sleep. No matter when or where, right now, I'd rather be sleeping. Sleeping makes me so happy that sometimes I crack a "practice" smile as I dream of my favorite things...which are, of course, eating, eating some more, and you guessed it, sleeping!

Who Needs Sleep?

During my first three nights home, I showed Mom and Dad a whole new meaning to the word "all-nighter." I think they finally got it, so I've been nice and let them sleep (better) the last two nights. But you never know what the next night will hold....
